Discussion will cover:
- Tree planting in the current drought;
- Best urban forestry management practices including case studes from the San Joaquin Valley;
- Potential funding opportunities for tree planting and technical assistance from CalFire.
With special guest speaker Dr. Igor Lacan, Urban Forestry Advisor with the U.C. Cooperative Extension. Dr. Lacan will discuss economic benefits of urban greening and strategies for designing community forestry programs and tree plantings in a time of drought. Other guests Lee Ayres of Tree Fresno, Anne Fenkner of the Davey Resource Group, and Darla Mills of CalFire, and Eric Aller, Parks Manager with the City of Clovis will discuss Central Valley case studies and funding strategies.
