Catherine Foster joined the Local Government Commission (LGC) in June 2020 and serves as the Project Manager for Climate and Energy Programs. She helps support a broad portfolio of coalitions, projects, and programs focused on the multiple dimensions of climate change mitigation and adaptation. She is passionate about collaborative initiatives and has a background in community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Prior to joining LGC, Catherine worked at Project Drawdown and supported Drawdown’s research and fellowship programs focused on climate change mitigation. She also worked as a Community Engagement Manager at Our City Forest, supporting the City of San Jose’s Green Vision Goals and the County of Santa Clara’s Climate Action Plan.
Catherine holds an M.P.A from the University of Washington with a specialization in Environmental Policy and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In her free time she enjoys photography, planting trees, and traveling.
