The CPUC is in the process of developing a New Residential ZNE Action Plan to meet the State’s energy efficiency goal to have all new homes be ZNE by 2020. Local Governments play a critical role in making Residential ZNE a success. Their role in overseeing building permits and code compliance; setting planning, design and zoning rules and policies; as well as their strong connection to the community and local businesses is central to making this statewide effort effective at the community level.
This workshop provided information about Zero Net Energy, this planning effort and an opportunity for local governments to provide input and feedback about the strategies and tactics being developed in the Action Plan.
