Webinar — Low Cost Ways to Reduce Energy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Local Governments across the state of California are coming up with creative, low-cost ways to reduce energy and greenhouse gas emissions. This webinar will highlight three creative approaches that local governments are undertaking to meet energy and climate change goals while also staying within their limited municipal budgets.
The webinar will begin by highlighting the innovative Climate Corps Bay Area Program, a ten-month program that matches AmeriCorps volunteers with local governments in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The webinar will also highlight the unique, low cost partnerships between students and professors from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and two local governments in an effort to develop community Climate Action Plans. Lastly, the webinar will highlight regional efforts undertaken in the San Diego region as part of SANDAG’s Energy Roadmap Program for Local Governments. This program has helped reduce duplication and will help meet energy and climate change goals at the regional level.
