The City of Santa Monica adopted its Santa Monica Sustainable City program in Fall 1994. Covering eleven different areas including recycling, water, energy, transportation and community and economic development, the program is the blueprint for Santa Monica’s goal to meeting its existing needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
