CivicSpark Partner Recruitment
CivicSpark is a Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program dedicated to building capacity for local public agencies to address community resilience to emerging environmental and socioeconomic challenges such as: climate change, water resource management, affordable housing, and mobility. CivicSpark is managed by the Local Government Commission (LGC) in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research.

Applications will be accepted in waves, with the first priority deadline on March 15th, and the second on May 3rd. 2019 SEEC GHG Inventory Cohort Training Session
The 2019 SEEC GHG Inventory Training Session is a structured technical assistance program to guide California local governments through the steps of creating a community-wide GHG inventory in real time. The Training Session is available through the SEEC program at no cost to cities.
Metered Energy Savings Pathways for Public Agencies
California has an ambitious goal of doubling energy efficiency by 2030 . At the same time, public agencies need resources to improve their aging buildings and infrastructure and contribute to statewide efficiency goals.

On February 5th, a non-binding resolution titled the “Green New Deal” was submitted by Congress-member Ocasio-Cortez. This ambitious, holistic and unconventional proposal grips the imagination. To succeed, I think the Green New Deal needs an enemy to motivate action.
Rural School Bus Pilot Program
Pack your lunch and grab your homework for here comes your new yellow ride! Schools throughout California are soon to be awarded with new electric, hybrid, and renewable diesel buses. In an effort to combat climate change and rising CO2 emissions, the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the North Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), along with the California Resources Board (CARB) have allocated funding to replace old school buses.
