Join us to learn about the role that coordinated engagement efforts plays in integrating water and land use decision-making. This briefing will include a presentation from our NGO cohort about their regional experiences with equitable public engagement, as well as discussion on statewide opportunities and proposed guiding principles.

The 11th Annual Statewide Energy Efficiency Forum (SEEC Forum) features a dynamic program to equip participants with the best practices, tools, and connections needed to reduce GHG emissions and accelerate climate action efforts. The 2020 SEEC Virtual Forum is free and will feature 18 webinars in total – 6 led by SEEC Partners with 12 total slots for submitted proposals from June to November 2020. The Local Government Commission, in partnership with the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative, will host the 10th Annual Statewide Energy Efficiency Forum (SEEC Forum) in June 26-27, 2019 in Long Beach, CA.
The SEEC Forum provides learning, sharing, and networking opportunities to help local governments save energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their communities, and catalyze climate action.
The forum features engaging sessions, expert plenaries and keynotes, and new innovative activities to help energy leaders and practitioners connect to learn about innovative projects and strategies, share best practices, and troubleshoot challenges.

Join Community Choice Agency (CCA) experts and leaders from across the state for a day-long event about accelerating CCA adoption, sharing best practices, and creating more benefits for our local communities on June 21st. There will also be a pre-symposium workshop on the afternoon of June 20th.

The biennial California Adaptation Forum gathers the adaptation community from across California and beyond to foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and mutual support to create resilient communities and tackle our state’s most pressing climate change challenges. The Forum offers a series of engaging plenaries, sessions, workshops, tours, networking opportunities, and more to support our transition from adaptation awareness and planning to action on the ground.
The 2018 Forum took place August 27th-29th in Sacramento, and brought together nearly 800 leaders and practitioners over the course of three days to learn, share, and network with one another. The 2018 Forum elevated three core priorities: Embracing Change to Catalyze Innovation, Uplifting Underrepresented Voices, and Taking a Whole Systems Approach. The program, delivered by over 280 speakers, included 3 plenaries, 13 workshops, 40 sessions, 8 tool demonstrations, 5 tours, 10 networking events, and climate art installations. The Forum also served as a launchpad for sharing findings from California’s Fourth Climate Change Assessment.

The conference program will cover a broad range of issues, from recovering from natural disasters and shifts to important federal affordable housing tools to improving resilience in a rapidly changing environment. Our speakers will discuss emerging trends and promising strategies on topics including decarbonization, Community Choice Aggregation, autonomous vehicles and social mobility.

The Local Government Commission is working in partnership with the Center for Climate Protection and the Local Government Sustainable Energy Coalition to offer our third Business of Clean Energy Symposium at the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach on May 5th, 2017. The Symposium will convene government, business, and community leaders to accelerate California’s shift to a clean energy economy. The event provides a forum to exchange ideas about Community Choice Energy programs and to learn about current energy policy, regulations, markets, and technology. Join us and learn more! This annual premier smart growth event organized by the Local Government Commission focuses on providing practical tools and innovative strategies for creating great communities.
