Riverbank, CA
Riverbank SR 108 Enhancement Plan
October 2003
Charrette
From February 6-10, 2003, the Local Government Commission and Walkable Communities, Inc., in association with Applied Development Economics and kd Anderson Transportation Engineers, conducted the charrette in Riverbank to help plan the future development of the SR 108 roadway and corridor. Participants expressed their views and hopes in focus groups, an opening public workshop and walking tours. Later they drew their solutions on maps at design tables. The charrette consultant team translated their ideas into a vision plan for creating village-style development, with more efficient movement of traffic and safe, pedestrian and bicycle-friendly roadway design and streetscapes.
